Monica is no stranger to pain and struggle. She was born to a single mother in Cleveland, OH who despite loving Monica struggled to express that love in positive ways. Monica was abused both emotionally and verbally. Her father, although not in the home, was a blue-collar, independent-thinking man who gave Monica the tools she needed to survive. Monica learned early in life that hard work pays off. At 18, Monica turned down a full-ride to Spelman College and instead enrolled in cosmetology school. She then later completed both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in marketing and business while simultaneously owning and running a chain of successful beauty salons and a beauty school. 

Monica has worked as a business consultant and generated millions for companies such as Pfizer, Loreal, Salon Centric, International Beauty Show, and Sally's Beauty Supply. Her vision and creativity have helped to scale multi-million dollar campaigns. She has professionally managed legends in both entertainment and sports, negotiating deals with Fortune 500 companies like Nike and NBA. 

On the personal side, Monica has had to heal and overcome low self-esteem, the betrayal of close friends, church hurt, the death of both her parents within an 18-month period of time, a divorce from her husband of 15 years, and many financial setbacks. Despite all of these difficulties Monica has persevered and gone on to create the success she always dreamed about as a little girl.
